Description
Built in 1859, the Cape Lookout Lighthouse is a 163-foot high lighthouse located on Core Banks. It is the only major lighthouse that operates during the day and flashes every 15 seconds. The light is visible up to 19 miles. There are a total of 216 steps to the lantern room.
The black diamond patterns indicate North & South, and the white diamonds point East & West.
