This dragon fly rests for a moment on a branch. Many adult dragonflies have brilliant iridescent or metallic colors. Dragonflies are powerful and agile fliers, capable of migrating across oceans, moving in any direction and changing direction suddenly. In flight, the adult dragonfly can propel itself in six directions: upward, downward, forward, back, to left and to right.
Hello and welcome to my site. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed photographing the subjects in them. While many of my images are of waterfowl, you will also find other coastal subjects such as lighthouses, wild ponies, boats, sunrises and sunsets, and a variety of other subjects as I add to this site. I am a native of coastal North Carolina. Living on the Crystal Coast of our State affords many opportunities to photograph interesting and beautiful wildlife, as well as a variety of other unique subjects and features of this area.
