A Snowy Egret seems to look at its reflection as it looks for food. The elegant snowy egret was killed by the thousands in the 1800's for its long, lacy breeding plumage, which was used for women's hats and other clothing. It has recovered both in range and numbers since that time.
Hello and welcome to my site. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed photographing the subjects in them. While many of my images are of waterfowl, you will also find other coastal subjects such as lighthouses, wild ponies, boats, sunrises and sunsets, and a variety of other subjects as I add to this site. I am a native of coastal North Carolina. Living on the Crystal Coast of our State affords many opportunities to photograph interesting and beautiful wildlife, as well as a variety of other unique subjects and features of this area.
