The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. Looking up Core Banks to the northeast, the Cape Lookout lighthouse is seen in the center of this photograph.
Built in 1859, the Cape Lookout Lighthouse is a 163-foot high lighthouse located on Core Banks, North Carolina. It is the only major lighthouse that operates during the day and flashes every 15 seconds. The light is visible up to 19 miles. There are a total of 216 steps to the lantern room.
The black diamond patterns indicate North & South, and the white diamonds point East & West.
