Artist's Description

Commercial fishing boats docked in Marshallberg Harbor just after sunrise. The harbor was established under the 1950 Harbor Act of the 8lst Congress and completed by the Corps of Engineers in 1957. It was built for the small boat owners of MarshallIberg and transient boaters.
Marshallberg is located in Down East Carteret County between Sleep Creek on its West and Core Sound to its East. Commercial fishing has long been a part of the coastal heritage of eastern North Carolina
